Hideo Hashimoto, Harry Emerzian and Jim Clark were honored at
the California Parks and Recreation Society District 4's Annual
Awards and Volunteer Recognition Dinner.
On this special evening, District 4 honored outstanding individuals
and organizations for their professional and volunteer contributions
to the fields of parks, recreation and human services. The dinner
was held in February at the Mountain View Senior Center.
Hideo Hashimoto has been a member of the volunteer
maintenance crew for seven years. Hideo is responsible for cleaning,
maintaining and refurbishing the ball washers on the golf course.
Hideo also cleans the shoe brushes located with each ball washer.
Harry Emerzian has been a volunteer at the golf course for
ten years. Harry first started as a marshal which he performed for a
few years. He then joined the maintenance volunteer crew and helped
with divot replacement, ball mark repairs and general course
maintenance. Harry became the lead volunteer on the maintenance crew
with the responsibility to train, schedule and coordinate the
maintenance crew. Harry also serves on the Advisory Greens Committee
representing the Shoreline Senior Club.
Jim Clark has been a volunteer for six years. Jim is
currently a volunteer at the driving range where he assists
customers by making change for the ball machine and providing them
loaner golf clubs with which to hit balls. Jim picks up empty range
baskets, sweeps and cleans the area around the range building and
loads the ball machine with clean range balls. All three volunteers
assist with the junior golf tournaments each year. They are assigned
a group of juniors to escort around the golf course and assist them
in their scoring, pace of play and general decorum.
